We’re absolutely thrilled to share some fantastic news with you all — The Rising Sun has been crowned Pub of the Year 2025 by the Bristol and District branch of CAMRA!

This recognition is incredibly special to us, not just because it's a prestigious award, but because it marks a significant moment in our pub's history. The last time we received this honour was back in 1995, making this win a full 30 years in the making.

A Family Tradition

The Rising Sun has been a cornerstone of Frampton Cotterell since 1982, proudly run by the Stone family. Over the years, we've strived to maintain the charm and warmth that make a village pub truly special. From our cosy interiors adorned with sepia photos of village life to the inviting log-burning stove, every corner of our pub tells a story.

More Than Just a Pub

We're not just a place to grab a pint; we're a community hub where friends and families come together. Our menu features hearty pub classics, all handmade in-house, with special nights like Pie Night on Tuesdays and Steak Night on Wednesdays . And let's not forget our skittle alley, a favourite for both casual games and private functions.
